All of Chiang Mai’s other pools and water parks have been blown out of the water since Tube Trek Water Park opened its doors earlier this year. Lofty slides, crazy flumes and lazy rivers meandering around the edges give this park its ability to please all types of people; from thrill seekers to chill seekers.
Spanning over 30 rai of land, wet and wild fun can be had by the whole family. As you walk in, you are greeted by the children’s water area, complete with R2D2 and the Starship Enterprise. Yes, this park is space themed, and although going against the sci-fi lore of never having the Trek and the Wars in the same place at the same time, they seem to get away with it.
For the brave adults out there, step into the Capsule, where you will be locked in only to have the floor give way beneath you as you plummet down a dark red tube with your screams left echoing way above you. The Wormhole is another ride that will leave your stomach in your mouth as you drop down on a dingy made for four before swirling around a giant funnel-like full-pipe before dropping into a pool of much calmer water below.
The park often organises parties too, with a stage overlooking a giant wave pool that is perfect for excitable family members of all ages. Dad can sip on a few beers after five as mum and kids hit the wave pool as the sun begins to set. A great day out for all the family, and is certainly one of Chiang Mai’s new must-visit attractions.
