CityNews– Heavy rain hit many areas of Chiang Mai on June 9th, causing many fallen trees, one of which damaging a car, but not causing any injuries.
Fallen trees and electric poles also blocked the road to Doi Suthep-Pui National Park until personnel could clear the way.
The storm also caused many bells hanging at Buddha relics in Wat Phra That Doi Suthep to fall, but were eventually reinstalled as well.
Many tourists were delayed from either entering or leaving the park during the storm. Officers managed the visitors to the park through wire broadcasting, but a number of tourists on their way up Doi Suthep were caught in the rainstorm.
