CityNews – Winter is expected to arrive early this year, according to the Northern Meteorological Centre.
The Northern Meteorological Centre announced on September 21st that Chiang Mai will be moving into the winter season by around the middle of October. Temperamental weather is expected during the transitioning of the seasons.
The President of Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association added that Chiang Mai is estimated to have its number of tourist increase to 10% from last year due to the direct flight from Vietnam and Qatar. The concern is for the capacity of the Chiang Mai International Airport, which, he said is considering extending its opening time to after midnight.
