Located on the same road as the Royal Rajapruek Project – Hang Dong, Sunshine Kindergarten is great for families who want their children learning in a tranquil atmosphere while acquiring first rate skills with trained teachers. Much of the emphasis of learning is on the environment and nature, plus there are classes in art, gym, cooking and English. In the morning, they study English, instructed by native speakers, and then they have a Thai class for an hour in the afternoon. Students are given the opportunity to speak English and Thai naturally at the child centre for learning.

Chadaya is a ‘2 in 1’ café located on Nimmanhaemin Soi 13, which means they do both coffee and food. At noon, they do a tasty rice curry, Thai rice noodles and baked goods at cheap prices, and at night it’s all about coffee and wine, spirits, imported beer and lots more. It’s located in a pleasant garden with a chilled atmosphere and they have some fairly decent tunes too if you’re into alternative music. There are also lots of promos on beers and whiskey. Every Friday and Saturday they have a folk band playing live.

It’s not always necessary to travel all the way to the sea to get some decent seafood, as we learned at this restaurant that has just opened in Chiang Mai. At Pooyim Seafood Restaurant, they offer fresh seafood imported from Chonburi seaport by plane just for us lucky devils in Chiang Mai. It gets here quick, so the result is total freshness. There’s a huge of selection of shrimps, fish, huge crabs, shells, and most other treats from the sea you can imagine. Sit in the pretty garden, pond-side or in the air-conditioned room.

For over 10 years, the Imperial Maeping hotel has been serving its renowned sukiyaki. The customers, many of whom are tourists from China, Korea and Japan, find themselves eating here time and time again. The design has been improved, the quality and range of food is now better, and the décor of the restaurant is now different, but thankfully you still only pay 299 baht. There shabu shabu includes sliced pork, all kinds of other meats, seasonal fruits, salad, dessert, and much more. Every month there will be a special menu such as Japanese food month, and a noodle festival month.
