Citylife Garden Fair ’15 Donates 240,000 to Charities

 |  January 21, 2016

Citylife is pleased to announce that we have donated 120,000 baht to the Burma Children Medial Fund and the same amount has been deposited into the Skal Organisation’s account, as they already manage funding for the Mae Maeh Orphanage in Chiang Dao. Skal will be offering us reports throughout the year, which we will share with you, as to how it is spent. But we were unable to transfer all funds to the school as the school does not have the ability to manage such sums, nor to report on its use.

The Citylife Garden Fair this year saw an estimated 4,000 visitors, with 220 stalls featuring food, second-hand products, and more.

The purpose of the fair is two-fold, to raise money to support two charities per event as well as to bring together our friends, clients and readers for a fabulous day. There were 60 food stalls ranging from haute cuisines such as the newly minted Akyra Manor Hotel, Wine Cellar’s kobe beef, Le Crystal, The Pavana and the Anantara to fabulous home cooked treats such as Rasta Mama Bakery, Burger Box and Dominique’s aromatic breads. We had 30 second hand stalls, and many nonprofit stalls such as TEDx, Kids Ark Foundation, Expat Club and a total of 130 business stalls ranging from Holiday Inn, PTIS, Fah Lanna and Oasis Spas to Colour Factory, The Cutler, Naga Spa, Kad Farang, Central and Bangkok Hospital, all happily crammed into JJ Hobby Market’s garden area.

Unfortunately we are still awaiting the issuing of the four return Air Asia tickets which the two lucky raffle buyers won, and when we have confirmation we will contact the winners directly.

Lastly please allow us to apologise for the delay in posting this. The Garden Fair this past year generated more promised income than was delivered and we have spent much of the past couple of months attempting to collect pledged money. Next year we are going to have to ask people to please pay on the day, so be prepared to bring cash!

The 2016 Citylife Garden Fair will be held on Saturday 26th of November. See you all there! We will be setting up a committee of volunteers within a month, so please get in touch if you are interested. We wish to make this a very transparent, large annual event for the community where we come together to raise money for worthy causes. We will also be setting up a subcommittee to consider proposals from foundations which would like to be beneficiaries of the fair, so an announcement will follow when we are all set up and open for proposals. Thank you Chiang Mai!
