Prunus Cerasoides (cherry blossoms) bloom between December and February, so hurry up and check them out!
1. Khun Chang Kian Highland Agriculture Research Centre
Drive up Doi Suthep and go past Ban Hmong Doi Pui where you will see some spectacular pink blossoms. There are lovely views and this is the closest place to see the blossoms so close to town. You can pop up from Huay Kaew Road and be there in just over half an hour. Hugely popular spot for lovers (and selfie lovers).

2. Doi Ang Khang
Drive up the Chiang Mai Fang Road towards Doi Angkhang, the journey will take between three to four hours. Quite a spectacle with cold winter winds adding ambiance so you feel as though you were transported to another world…well, country. Stunning cherry blossoms make for a lovely view – don’t forget your balaclava!

3. Khun Mae Ya, Mae Hong Son
Take a mini bus to Huai Nam Dang National Park and go further to Khun Mae Ya where grassy fields dotted with tents are surrounded by stunning blushing cherry blossoms.

4. Doi Mae Salong, Chiang Rai
The winter months are a wonderful time to visit this part of the world where eerie morning mists blanket the valleys and cold wind sweep through mountain tops, where cute tea houses offer steaming warm respite. Tents and home stays are available. All cherry blossoms are at their best between December and February.

5. Phu Lom Lo, Phitsanulok
More so than anywhere in the upper north, Pitsonulok, a four hour drive from Chiang Mai, has taken the prize as THE cherry blossom destination this year. Entire mountains are covered in these flowers and walking through pink tipped trees in the dappled sunlight will make you feel as though you were walking down nature’s red carpet.
