Maximiliano Neri is a man with generations of winemaking behind him. Hailing from the vineyards of Tuscany, Italy, he has now relocated to Chiang Mai where his own family’s wines can be sampled and enjoyed on the mountainsides of Baan Pong. For now he has two wines on offer, Brunello Montalcino and Nobile Montepolano (both are red, the Nobile being awarded 99 out of 100 in the Wine Spectator rating charts). Neri Tenuta Winery offers a unique wine drinking experience with a glass served with a range of side snacks starting at just 150 baht. Views of the mountains are stunning, perfect for a date or an afternoon city escape with friends. Bottles are chilled in a cooler imported from Italy, keeping the wine at a constant 20 degrees for perfect drinking temperature. Sure, the winery is a bit of a drive out of town, but it is well worth it for the great atmosphere, lovely décor and even better wines.
