Following the announcement that yesterday would be the first day that alcohol can be sold legally in restaurants again, Chiang Mai saw a very busy night.
At 8pm last night the governor, along with an entourage of officials, patrolled the city to make sure that everyone was behaving and found no business in violations of the law. According to the latest mandate, alcohol can now be sold in restaurants between 11am and 2pm and again between 5pm and 11pm. All restaurants must comply with ‘COVID – Free Setting’ health and safety regulations which require all customers to show proof of being double vaccinated, or ATK test results within the past 72 hours, or proof of having contracted Covid-19 in the past three months.
