CityNews – A Malaysian man was arrested for falsely reporting a robbery attempt to police.
Pravin Krishnan, 20, visited a police station with a translator to report an attempted robbery he claimed occurred on Loi Kroh Road. He said the suspect was a foreigner with a blond beard and red cap who used a kitchen knife to threaten him. The suspect allegedly grabbed his wallet before eventually tossing it on the ground and fleeing the scene.
Upon investigating the report, police determined from local people and the security officer in the area that the incident Pravin claimed had not occurred.
Krishnan was arrested on August 17th for reporting a false claim. He admitted to the crime and revealed that he had in fact run out of money and invented the claim to persuade his father to give him more.
