CityNews – A snatcher targeting university students has been arrested.
Police have been receiving reports from Maejo University students of a snatch theft case. CCTV footages show that the suspect is a woman who would frequently be seen on the university premises, strolling around where students would normally casually leave their belongings as they pursued various activities, snatching them up when no one was looking.
Eventually, the suspect was arrested on August 23rd. She is identified as Ponprapa Klamklai, 35, who admitted to have committed the crime three times prior to the arrest. Her motive, she said, was insufficient income from her current job. Police also found 18 stolen items which include laptop, watches, mobile phone, etc.
