CityNews – The Royal Thai Police has prioritised its crackdown on teen racers.
On August 2nd, Pol. Gen. Chaktip Chaijinda, the Royal Thai Police commissioner, ordered all units to intensify the crackdown on juvenile motorcycle racing. The strategy is to investigate and find sources such as motorcycle garages, raid gatherings of juveniles, extend the investigation to endorsers, which include parents and Facebook page admins, and develop a data base of those who have been arrested and those at risk.
Since June 27th, 464 teen racers have been arrested nationwide with 14,827 listed on the at risk group, 8,505 motorcycle garages have been raided, and 24,751 modified motorcycle have been seized.
