CityNews – A 109 million baht budget has been set to build over a thousand check dams across the country.
The Office of Public Sector Anti Corruption Commission (PACC) has announced a check dam project which will be initiated in 45 provinces across the country. 1,097 check dams are planned to be built under the budget of 1.79 million baht with each dam limited to a 100,000 baht budget. Among the 337 dams planned to be built in the north of Thailand, 157 are in Chiang Mai.
The PACC will be collaborating with the Chiang Mai Land Development Office on this project and today the authorities have been inspecting the area in Mae On where it is planned to build 50 check dams in the district.
