CityNews – 12 more department step up to sign their names to block the Halal Industrial Estate being built in the province of Chaing Mai after it was made to move from another location due to similar action.
On the morning of February 16, Somsak Paisarnsajjathum, village chef of San Sai district, and other 12 representatives of areas and departments met Prawin Chamniprasart, Chaing Mai governor, to sign an agreement for blocking the Halal industrial estate.
However, Governor Prawin told the group that there was currently no plan to build a Halal Industrial Estate in 2017 anymore. He did mention that the administration department is planning to build a Northern Food Valley which will also promote Halal food tourism.
He also mentioned that he will announce to the public if there is the construction and also will listen to people opinions before signing off on anything.
