Chiang Mai International Airport has announced that it is increasing the number of flights from 14-16 per day to 32-34 per day and expanding operation times from 10am-6.30pm to 7pm-8.30pm.
The Chiang Mai – Bangkok route will be run by Thai Smile, Bangkok Airways and Thai Vietjet to Suvarnabhumi Airport and Nok Air, Air Asia and Thai Lion Air to Don Muang.
The aim is to generate more domestic travel in hopes of boosting the economy. Currently the Chiang Mai International Airport is seeing 1,300-1,500 passengers per day.
