CityNews – Police arrested a man on drug charges after local residents called police to report him smoking illegal substances in his apartment on March 2.
Police rushed to the scene at Cherry Inn in Mae Rim where they arrested 29-year-old Tanadech Aukaraboonnon.
He had tried to escape as the police knocked on his apartment door but failed, returning to the bed waiting to be arrested.
He was found to be in possession of heroin and also had a fake ID card claiming he was a man from Bangkok.
At first police believed him to be the man in the ID card but realised it was fake when processing the man at the station.
Tanadech told police that he had bought the ID card from a gang in San Sai for about 50,000 baht.
Police are investigating the gang and will also prosecute Tanadech for drug possession and illegal misrepresentation.
