CityNews – Flood warnings have been issued to 25 districts in Chiang Mai following heavy rains that are expected to continue into the weekend.

The water levels of Mae Chaem River in Kalayaniwattana district is at its highest recorded level, so locals have been warned that flooding is likely in the area.
The Northern Meterological Centre has issued warnings to 25 districts in Chiang Mai to beware of flooding. The most at risk disticts are Mae Chaem, Chiang Dao, Mae Wang, Samoeng, and Doi Tao.
The heavy rain is due to a passing typhoon named Nepartak, that is currently causing considerable damage to Taiwan, with wind speeds up to 200kmh.
