The governor of Chiang Mai, Nirat Pongsitthaworn, told the media earlier today that with numbers of tourists rising dramatically over the past weeks and only more expected to come, he asks the people of Chiang Mai to be welcoming and kind hosts.
He went on to say that health and safety standards across the city are to be raised, with relevant officials being trained and tasked with the job. The city will become beautified and the citizens are asked to obey laws and decorate their homes and places of businesses, sprucing the city up for all visitors to enjoy.
