Chiang Mai has had five data points report pollution levels at higher than 200 migrograms per cubic metre, with the Mae Chaem data centre reporting numbers as high as 284.
With rainless months, the beginning of the burning season and the regular issues we face that contribute towards the air pollution annually, this year is set to be a concern for all of us.
There will be a total ban on lighting fires between the 15th February until the end of April, so let’s see how well that works out.
Reports are there are currently over 365 hotspots, with 31 here in Chiang Mai, which have been highlighted by satellite imaging as locational fires.
