Police have issued a warning to teenagers who have been playing the social map application Jagat’s latest coin challenge, where they search for virtual coins for the chance of winning money.
Many complaints have been made, especially from residents of Moon Muang Soi 9 and JingJai Market recently, of groups of teenagers, as many as 10 at a time, climbing into private properties in search of these elusive coins. Plants, walls and other odds and ends have reportedly been damaged in the teen enthusiasm for virtual clout. These virtual coins can then be exchanged for real world prizes. This application was a recent big hit in Indonesia, but police say that it has no local Thai partners to discuss the problems with.
