CityNews – Over 40 teams nationwide were pushed to the limit after running, kayaking and running some more from the 700 Year Stadium, to Huay Tung Tao Lake, through Pui National Park, and back to the stadium.
This grueling race is only one part of Lanna Adventure 2012, a competition that has contestants running, bicycling and kayaking to win glory, trophy cups and cash. The event was held this past week in Chiang Mai, hosted by the Upper Northern Region 1 Tourism and Sport Authority.
The upcoming race, Lanna Adventure 2013, promises to be even more taxing on competitors, and will be held from May – August. Winners will receive an honour suit, cup and 20, 000 baht. Starting in Chiang Mai, the challenge will migrate to the Lamphun province from 22nd – 23rd June, then to Mae Hong Son from 13th – 14th July, and back to Lampang from 10th – 11th August.
