CityNews – Chiang Mai’s Vice Governor, Chana Paengpibun, presided over the “Collect Gracious Hospitality from Chiang Mai Residents to Nepal People” event, in aid of those affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal.
The event took place outside the Major Cineplex Theatre, Central Festival Chiang Mai yesterday afternoon.
It hosted various activities such as a special talk on lessons learnt from earthquake crises, an auction including some of Thailand’s celebrities most beloved belongings and booths selling “pray for Nepal” t-shirts, with all proceeds going to earthquake victims in Nepal.
All proceeds will be formally presented to the Damrongtham Centre to then be passed on to the International Red Cross Society working in Nepal.
So far, over one million baht has been donated to the Damrongtham Centre, raised by donations, proceeds from the events and donations from the heads of each district of Chiang Mai.
