Songkran is more than just the celebration of the Thai New Year. It is a moment for reconnection and revisiting cherished relationships. This year, the Museum of Broken Relationships Chiang Mai invites you to rediscover the meaning of Songkran through the “Reconnect: A Songkran of Homecoming and Renewal” event that will be held from April 7 to 20, 2025.

The visitors can celebrate the Thai New Year with an exclusive “2 for 1 Ticket” promotion. Buy one ticket and receive another free, an opportunity to invite someone special, be it a long-lost friend, a past love, or a person whose presence once held deep meaning in life.

During this period, visitors can also take part in the LannaTung-Making Activity. The participants can design their own Tung Sai Moo, a unique Lanna-style flag decorated with colors, patterns, and personal wishes for the Thai New Year. Visitors may take their Tung home as a keepsake or offer it as part of the Tung Donation Ritual, which will take place at temples across Chiang Mai on April 15, 2025.

Additionally, the museum encourages visitors to contribute their own stories and personal objects as part of its ongoing mission to preserve and share experiences of love, loss, and renewal. Objects and stories donated to the Museum of Broken Relationships may be selected for inclusion in its permanent exhibition in Chiang Mai or traveling exhibitions around the world.
