Sri Lanna National Park which has areas spreading between Chiang Mai’s Mae Taeng, Chiang Dao and Phrao Districts, is creating an 8-10 metre firewall to help stem the spread of wildfires in the area.

Park authorities say that they have set up 24 hour patrols from now until the end of the pollution months, to ward off mushroom as well as small animal hunter and gatherers. The park covers 920,908.51 rai of land, or approximately 1,406 square kilometres, which include very rough and mountainous terrains which means that patrols will need to sleep in tents as they patrol the area.
