The National Park Authorities as well as Chiang Mai Rescue Centre have been working with an elephant organisation to train three elephants for emergency rescue.
The elephants will undergo training as to how to help in rescue emergencies in mountainous areas. They will train in how to clear pathways for rescue workers, how to carry and support multiple injured persons as well as carry and deliver rescue medicine and equipment.
