The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched “The North Thailand Travel” (Nua Prompt Tiew) event with the aim to boost domestic tourism, help entrepreneurs affected by flood and kick off the campaign “Travel to the North at Half Price” (Aew NuaKhon La Krung) to reinvigorate tourism for the upcoming high season.
November 1st-3rd, 2024, TAT invited entrepreneurs and media nationwide, more than 200 people, to update tourism products and services and negotiate business with tourism entrepreneurs in 17 northern provinces. The “Travel to the North at Half Price” (Aew Nua Khon La Krung)” campaign was announced during the event and launched on November 1st, 2024 to stimulate tourism in the North. It is expected that by the end of 2024, there will be more than 22.13 million tourists traveling to upper Northern Thailand, generating more than 164,106 million baht in tourism revenue.
After the flood crisis was over, Chiang Mai mobilized government officials, citizens, and volunteers to urgently restore the affected areas. Chiang Mai is now ready to welcome tourists during the upcoming High Season. At the end of the year, there are many interesting activities and festivals, such as the Chiang Mai Yi Peng Festival, Chiang Yai Music Festival 4, Chiang Mai Design Week, Muang Thai Chiang Mai Marathon, and Amazing Chiang Mai Countdown 2025, which are expected to attract both Thai and international tourists.
The campaign “Travel to the North at Half Price” (Aew Nua Khon La Krung)” starting from November 1st, 2024. TAT has collaborated with tourism business operators in 17 northern provinces, such as hotels, accommodations, coffee shops, restaurants, DIY activities, tourist attractions, and souvenir shops, to offer a 50% discount on purchases of goods and services at participating establishments, with a total value not exceeding 400 baht, for 10,000 subsidies. Tourists can scan the QR code to register at the participating establishments in the 17 northern provinces. SMS confirming will be immediately sent to confirm their participation in the campaign, which valid for 3 days (72 hours).
The discount can be used by scanning the QR code at participating establishments with the “Travel to the North at Half Price” logo. The deal is limited and TAT reserves the right for those who register first (First Come First Served). Registration can be done until December 31st, 2024 or until all 10,000 discounts have been claimed.
