CityNews – Two geologists have died after a tunnel collapsed during construction in Mae Taeng this morning around 7.30am.
The tunnel, which is roughly 600 metres deep into a mountain side, partially collapsed, killing two geologists, identified as Pratyawat Wasu-anant and Pathomporn Siriwat who both worked for the Italian-Thai Development PLC.
According to reports, the tunnel collapsed due to a displacement of water in the soil above the tunnel due to a water diversion project involving the Mae Ngad Dam.
