As part the World Gourmet Festival, an annual gathering of the world’s most exciting chefs, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort will play host to Chef Enrico Marmo of Michelin-starred Ristorante Balzi Rossi on the Italian Riviera, with four-course tasting menus presented on 27 and 28 September 2024 at The Service at 1921 House.

As one of the world’s favourite culinary destinations, Thailand is the perfect host for the World Gourmet Festival. Each year, it brings together Michelin-starred talent from all around the world. Showcasing their talents 24-29 September in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, they set the kingdom alight with their unique passions and talents “Beyond Taste and Time”.

This year, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort will play host to the talents of trailblazing Chef Enrico Marmo. He helms the kitchen at Michelin-starred Ristorante Balzi Rossi, located on the border of France and Italy, with loyale clientele from all along the Mediterranean coast, from Sanremo to Saint-Tropez.

Recognised last year with the Gambero Rosso Tradizione Futura award, Chef Enrico is known for taking traditional recipes from Liguria – where the mountains meet the sea, meaning not only the freshest seafood, but also the freshest produce including some of Italy’s most prized olives – and reinterpreting them for the modern day with his uniquely creative touch.

Guests will be able to enjoy his creations with tasting journeys presented for two nights only, Friday 27 and Saturday 28, at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s The Service at 1921 House. On the menu are Ligurian-style sea urchin, octopus and lobster infused with notes of Asia and the tropics.

“We are thrilled to be part of the World Gourmet Festival and host one of Italy’s most celebrated next-generation chefs”, says Chin Pitak Norathepkitti, General Manager of the resort. Here at Anantara, we have a long tradition of culinary excellence, beginning with our history as the former British consulate where grand banquets took place, all the way through to our present-day offerings of authentic Thai regional cuisines and the city’s best steak”.

The menus are priced at THB 4,900++ per person or THB 7,200++ with wine pairing, and with only 30 seats available per night, advance reservations are essential.
