CityNews – 1st April 2020, it was reported that yesterday, 31st March, Boonleu Thamtharanurakse, the district chief of Mae Chaem, ordered the district clerk to investigate reports from villagers of a fire in the Pa Baan Tuan area. On arrival they found Dokkham Boontha, 49, standing in the area with a lighter in his hand.
Suspecting him of starting the fire, he was taken into custody where he told authorities that he was taking a short cut home when he saw an excess of leaves and branches, thinking to get rid of them he lit a fire which got out of hand.
