CityNews – Another fire broke out in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park today, in the same location of the fire that devastated the park earlier this week.
This morning, May 12, residents of Chiang Mai noticed and reported smoke coming from the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, behind the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Firefighting teams attempted to put out the fire, and used the Royal Rainmaker’s helicopter to dump water on the fire more than 10 times. However, the fire became more violent over the afternoon due to the hot weather and dry jungle.
Fire teams are still fighting the blaze now, and are beginning to contain the fire.
