Visitors have been flocking up the mountains to take in the cooler temperatures and often mist and cloud covered peaks.
The recent long weekend has seen a surge in tourists arriving in Chiang Mai, many of whom have gone up Doi Suthep to both pay respects to the holy temple as well as to take in the spectacular views.
Unfortunately many were disappointed that Doi Inthanon was not yet open, as the road is only open to those travelling to Mae Chaem or to villages up the mountain.
Doi Inthanon National Park will officially reopen to visitors on 1st August. However, visitors are requested to join the application QueQ prior to visiting.
