CityNews – Heavy rain has caused flooding in San Sai, including outside of Maejo University.
Several areas in San Sai, including Pa Phai, Nong Han and the main road outside Maejo University have suffered heavy flooding due to yesterday’s heavy and continuous downpour.
The water in several areas was reported to be deeper than 30 centimeters. Photos taken at Ban Huai Kiang School show classrooms and sports fields destroyed by floodwater, including a computer room.
According to the Northern Meteorological Center, Chiang Mai will face more heavy rain and thunderstorms covering between 60 and 80% of the province throughout the week due to low pressure coming from the Gulf of Martaban and wind from the South China Sea that is blowing towards northern Thailand. Citizens are advised to take precautions in the event of floods or other emergencies.
