CityNews – Chiang Mai city has launched a campaign to reduce the smog this year, hoping to raise awareness and make all residents responsible for their actions.
Mayor Tassanai Buranupakorn announced on February 15th at Lanna Rama 9 Park that he was launching the “Fill the Air with Love 2017” campaign where residents were asked to sign an MOU of intent, along with six organisations who were working towards reducing air pollution within the city limits.
There will be three measures used; the reduction of burning of leaves in the city and the encouragement for residents to instead compost, controlling of dust in construction sites and reducing air pollution from exhaust fumes.
