Chiang Mai Traffic Police have started a campaign to raise awareness as to the proper use of zebra crossings, following a spate of accidents along the two kilometer stretch of Suthep Road which passes by Maharaj Hospital.
According to traffic police, there are six zebra crossings at 200m intervals running alongside the hospital, most of which are ignored by motorists.
Over the coming weeks, volunteers will be set up to monitor the use of traffic lights and motorists are urged to take care and stop.
