CityNews – At 3am this morning, 14th September 2016, a one hundred year old tree fell across the sacred naga staircase leading up to Doi Suthep temple.
The temple claims the nagas to be 400 years old, though numerous renovations and repairs over the centuries likely mean that they are much newer. The tree, said temple officials, was so large that it would take two persons, with arms stretched, to hug it.
The nagas will be repaired as soon as possible.
