This weekend Lanna Rugby Club will be hosting the inaugural Chiangmai Rugby 7s. This event will bring together some of the best rugby talent in the region and beyond at the picturesque Suthep Municipal Stadium. The event has been set up to support the Lanna Rugby Club’s youth section which is carried out in conjunction with the Kids Ark Foundation and, more recently, the Baan Dek Foundation.
Men’s Open Division

Chiang Mai University Rugby Club: The local university team is set to bring youthful energy and determination. Led by the talismanic Coach Bon they won’t give up without a fight.
Women’s Open Division

Thailand National Sports University: TThey like to throw the ball around and stretch play, let’s see how other teams fair against their quick style of play.
SEA Barbarians: This team’s dynamic playstyle could turn heads throughout the tournament. They are made up of a number of high-quality players from different clubs around Southeast Asia. If they gel quickly, they’ll be formidable.
Guam Rugby Club: Bringing international flair, they are sure to add excitement to the competition. Known for their tough uncompromising style, they’ll have their enyes on the big prize.
Evening Events
The excitement doesn’t stop with the matches. On the evening of the tournament, a social party will kick off at 7:30 PM at The Moat House in the Old Town. This gathering will provide players, fans, and families the opportunity to unwind, connect, and celebrate the day’s achievements. The theme of the party will be the color blue.
Following the social event, the festivities will continue at BlacklightCNX, a popular nightclub, where attendees can dance the night away and enjoy a vibrant after-party atmosphere.
