A fuel tanker burst into flames, taking almost two hours to put out, after overturning on the Lampang-Chiang Mai highway on the way down from Khun Tarn in Mae Tha.

After five fire trucks put out the massive fire it was found that the tanker’s driver had died in the accident, his body found underneath the front of the vehicle.

Police say that initial investigations show that the tanker was driving downhill around a bend in the road when one of its tyres burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle when then rammed into a Toyota, before overturning and bursting into flames. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured.
