Chiang Mai Wins Big at IFEA Asia Awards 2025 Chiang Mai and its festival partners have been recognized at the IFEA Asia Pinnacle Awards & Asia Festival City Conference 2025 in Gyeongju, South Korea.
This prestigious event, celebrating the 70th anniversary of IFEA, highlights excellence in festival organization across 23 countries.
Chiang Mai proudly secured three major awards: Asia Festival Award 2025 – Asia World Heritage City and Festival Asia Pinnacle Awards – Best Event Program & Best PR & Marketing for Yi Peng Festival Additionally, Chiang Mai has been selected as the host city for IFEA Asia 2026, reinforcing its position as a leading festival destination. The success of this festival is the result of strong collaboration between Chiang Mai Province and key partners, including the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Visitlanna Lanna Association for MICE & Tourism Industry, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), local businesses and communities, and the CU Social Design Lab at Chulalongkorn University, the Faculty of Architecture. This initiative is further supported by the National Science, Research, and Innovation Promotion Board (NRCT), the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMU-C), the Creative Tourism & Economy Group, and the Thailand Science, Research, and Innovation Fund. Together, these organizations have developed strategic frameworks to enhance the Yi Peng Festival, leveraging research to improve its impact and sustainability. By integrating Lanna soft power into festival development, this collaboration ensures a balanced and effective approach to cultural promotion, stemming from an academic partnership agreement between Chiang Mai Province, Visitlanna, NRCT, and TCEB.
