Hylife Group Joins Forces with Public and Private Sector Partners to Launch “Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment” – Aiming to Establish Chiang Mai as Asia’s Hub for Entertainment Innovation.
Chiang Mai, the 22nd of March 2025 – Hylife Group, a leader in real estate development, asset management, and manufacturing, has partnered with public and private sector organisations to host the academic seminar “Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment.” This marks the inaugural event under the “Creative Chiang Mai” initiative, which aims to transform Chiang Mai into a central hub for advancing the creative industry and driving urban growth as a future innovation and entertainment centre of Asia. Held at the Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre, the event was honoured by the presence of Hylife Group’s executives, led by Mr. Shubhodeep Das, Group CEO. Also, there were representatives from partner organisations, including Chiang Mai Municipality, the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), GDH, the Busan International Film Festival, College of Arts, Media and Technology of Chiang Mai University, and the general public, also participated.
Mr. Shubhodeep Das revealed that this event marked the first activity under the “Creative Chiang Mai Hub” campaign. The project aims to unite various network partners to develop Chiang Mai into a central hub for promoting the creative industry while driving the city’s growth as a future hub of innovation and entertainment in Asia. Chiang Mai possesses high potential for developing a creative economy. Additionally, the initiative seeks to empower local youths by encouraging their creative and innovative capabilities. The project will be carried out through various activities based on three core concepts: Chiang Mai Creative Hub – Developing creative spaces for youths and entrepreneurs, Chiang Mai Green Innovation Hub – Promoting environmentally friendly solutions through innovation, Chiang Mai Entertainment Hub – Creating opportunities in the Asian film industry.
“This project aims to encourage participation among key target groups, including Gen Z students, professionals in the creative industries, entrepreneurs in innovation and technology, as well as public and private sector organisations that aspire to develop Chiang Mai as a leading creative hub. The expected outcomes of this initiative include expanding career opportunities for Chiang Mai’s youth, stimulating the economy and tourism through a series of creative activities, and positioning Chiang Mai as a regional hub for innovation and entertainment in the future.”
“I firmly believe that the Creative Chiang Mai initiative is a significant step toward developing Chiang Mai into a city of the future, filled with opportunities in the creative economy and sustainability. We hope that support from all sectors will contribute to the success of this project, creating a positive long-term impact on youths and the communities of Chiang Mai,” said Mr. Shubhodeep Das.
“Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment” featured a full day of creative activities, knowledge sharing, and diverse entertainment. The morning session took place at Chiang Mai Historical Centre Square, beginning with the official opening ceremony of the “Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment”. This was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Hylife Group and its network partners, aimed at fostering initiatives to position Chiang Mai as a hub for the creative industry. The morning continued with the first talk session, titled “Building Opportunities, Highlighting Identity, and Propelling Entertainment onto the Asian Stage”, under the concept of “Chiang Mai Entertainment Hub”. The session concluded with a live music performance.
In the afternoon, the event featured an exciting eco-friendly fashion show by the brand RUN GA RUN, showcasing sustainable designs. The stage then transitioned into the second talk session, titled “Upgrading Chiang Mai to Evergreen O2”, under the concept of “Chiang Mai Green Innovation Hub”. This was followed by the third talk session, titled “Building a Creative City”, under the concept of “Chiang Mai Creative Hub”.
In the evening, the fourth talk session titled “From Film to Funding: Turning Movie Ideas into Global Success”, under the concept of “Chiang Mai Entertainment Hub”. The first day concluded with a live music performance.
In addition, there will be more exciting activities on the evening of Sunday the 23rd of March 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Three Kings Monument Square. These activities will include a cosplay costume contest, the award ceremony for the mascot competition of the “Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment” campaign, the unveiling of the campaign’s official mascot, and a talk session on the topic: “Character Design: The Creative Power of the New Generation”, under the concept of “Chiang Mai Creative Hub”.
The event, made possible by the collective efforts of all partners, will conclude with a memorable experience, offering both insight and entertainment, and importantly, inspiring participants to be part of Chiang Mai’s development as a hub for promoting the creative industry. The “Creative Chiang Mai: Powering Tomorrow’s Entertainment” academic talk marks the first event under the “Creative Chiang Mai” initiative. Moving forward, a series of exciting and engaging activities will continue to be organised as part of the project.
