Irish Ambassador H.E. Pat Bourne’s Reception at Shangri La Hotel

On Thursday 17th of November the newly-arrived Irish Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr Pat Bourne, hosted a reception at the Shangri-La Hotel on the occasion of his first visit to Chiang Mai. Among the attendees were members of the Irish community, regional Government officials, local businesspeople and academics. Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador spoke about the strong bilateral relationship between Ireland and Thailand and stressed his ambition to grow economic, educational and people-to-people links between Ireland and Chiang Mai. He paid tribute to Mrs Annette Kunigagon, for her work in serving Ireland in Chiang Mai over many years and congratulated her on her formal nomination as Honorary Consul of Ireland. Ambassador Bourne also took the opportunity to launch the Chiang Mai segment of the Irish Film Festival 2022. Dating Amber, an Irish LGBTQI+ film, will be screening at the SFX cinema Chiang Mai at 19:00 on Friday 18th of November. The event is open to the public.
