Mr. Aphichai Chatchalermkij, Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing, TAT, said that the flood situation in the past has affected tourism in many areas of the North, especially in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces, both in terms of transportation to the area and damage to tourist attractions. However, at present the situation in the northern provinces has returned to normal. And from November 1st onwards, tourist attractions and various establishments in the North are ready to welcome both Thai and foreign tourists. The kick-off of the “Visit the North…Half Each” campaign will be held on November 1, 2024 to fully stimulate tourism in the North. It is expected that by the end of 2024, more than 22.13 million tourists will travel to the North and generate more than 164.10 billion baht in tourism revenue. Tourists can scan the QR code to register for the right at the participating hotels in the 17 northern provinces. After registering for the right, they will receive an SMS confirming their participation in the campaign, which will have a validity period of 3 days (72 hours) from the time they receive the confirmation SMS.
