The banks of the Ping River can overlook chaotic markets, bustling roads, or, if lucky, quiet gentle stretches of the slowly meandering river.
Mira at RatiLanna Riverside Spa Resort is one such spot which affords sweeping views of the river flanked by lush green banks as it wends its way south.
An elegant indoors and outdoors dining area sits overlooking the Ping River on one side and the resort’s inviting swimming pool on the other. Mira’s dark wood décor and bursts of colourful paintings, antiques and objet d’arts makes for a romantic and intimate dining experience. For a more casual meal, the breezy outdoors dining area is cool year round and perfect for family and friends.
Mira is known for its authentic Thai flavours, sourcing fresh and seasonal local herbs and produce, to be integrated with western techniques or flavours, making for a unique menu which honours both oriental and occidental cuisines.
Winner of the Thailand Umami Culinary Challenge 2012 as well as recipient of Thailand’s Best Restaurant from Thailand Tatler in 2018, Chef Sarayuth Kaewyon brings his 26 years of experience working and heading kitchens in Thailand and the west to Mira.
One dish which comes highly recommended is the spicy pomelo salad with grilled fresh shrimps, a healthy dish which fuses the sour and sweet of the pomelo with the savoury umami flavours of the herbal sauce. The muang hor d’oeuvres is another popular dish, combining so many of the most famous local dishes into a smorgasbord of Lanna cuisine. The beef massaman curry is another must try dish which arrives aromatic and with complex and delicately balanced flavours as well as tender meat.
Stop by Mira for a unique dining experience by the banks of the Ping River.
