Raya Heritage, under the same management as the iconic Rayavadee in Krabi and Chiang Mai’s very own first boutique hotel, Tamarind Village, knows how to spoil you.
Set upon a quiet bend of the Ping River, this hotel, designed to echo the ancient crossroads which intersected Asia, one of which was Chiang Mai itself, offers a blend of sumptuous architecture, lush nature and impeccable service.
Heritage and culture oozes from every corner with thoughtful decorative items selected from local artisans and crafts people, giving a genuine feeing of nostalgia for Chiang Mai past.
You can arrive in the morning for a spot of invigorating locally sourced single origin coffee at the Baan Ta Lounge & Lawn, or while away the afternoon with a decadent tea of both sweet and savoury bites, before ushering in the twilight with any one of the resort’s sophisticated cocktails.
Ingredients for drinks are curated from local sources including the organic Chiang Rai arabica coffee, the fresh sugarcane cocktail, Jang Yay, with added brightness from the fresh sprig of mint or the Gingerito mocktail which offers a refreshing respite on a hot day with its fresh ginger, lime and ginger ale.
Another recommended drink is the delightful Matcha Kingdom which uses freshly made espresso topped with aromatic cream cheese and added sweetness from jasmine rice syrup. And cocktail lovers must give the Black Martini a go, where espresso, vodka, dry vermouth and toffee nut syrup blend into a unique and very tasty sip.
There are a great variety of snacks to be had including some unique as well as long lost recipes, all of which leverage the best and freshest of local ingredients.
If you are looking for something truelly special and unique, then head on over to Raya Heritage’s Baan Ta Lounge & Lawn where you can delight your tastebuds while surrounded by a remarkably peaceful and unique setting.
