Head to Tamarind Village in the heart of the old city this monsoon for a sumptuous feast of delightful Thai food. Here are eight dishes selected by Tamarind Village’s chef to entice you…


Goong sorn glin – poached shrimp and pork in sweet-lime citrus dressing with peanuts and pickles, garlic rice cracker – a delightful traditional dish where field shrimp and pork are marinated with lime juice, ginger, shallots, pickled garlic and rice crackling!


Kho moo yang – Grilled marinated pork neck with sweet chilli fish sauce and raw mango salad.

Roasted beetroots and pumpkin feta cheese salad with creamy lemon sauce – featuring fresh seasonal ingredients


Gang to – Mixed vegetable soup in coconut milk with shrimps and crab meat, a hard-to-find old Thai dish.

Snakehead fish and tamarind, pan-seared snakehead fish with mini ratatouille, mixed grilled seasonal mushroom, tamarind chutney and tartar sauce.


Spaghetti and braised short ribs, organic tomato concassee sauce – an aromatic dish which fuses the east and the west with mixed seafood in tomato soup with sweet basil and fresh herbs.


Taothueng nam lamyai – chilled assorted beans, lotus roots and ginko berries in syrup for a refreshing dessert.
