Chiang Mai is now in the middle of the rainy season. With many fruits and vegetables flourishing, this is one of the busiest times of the year to harvest the season’s produce.
Palette Restaurant at 137 Pillars House has launched a new Chef’s tasting menu featuring the monsoon season’s lush bounty. Unveiling a delightful array of flavors, the six meticulously crafted dishes deliver complex yet hearty flavors using organic local produce.
The six course Chef’s Tasting Menu 2024 starts with a tasty bite of an amuse bouche crab meat cream cheese with potato chips and lemon wedges.
This is followed by a ripe papaya, pear and fig salad, where the sweet and refreshing flavours of the seasonal produce are enhanced by a cinnamon lemon honey sauce.
Next, the chef serves up a tomato soup. Creamy, comforting and full of rich flavor, the dish is perfect for a rainy day.
A palate cleanser of yuzu sorbet makes way for the main dish. You are given a choice between two main courses; lamb chop served with roasted potato in green peppercorn sauce or Seared tuna. The large, sliced tuna cubes are crispy and seared on the outside, medium-rare on the inside and bursting with umami flavor.
End the meal with a lovely mango mousse filled with chocolate lava and served with a raspberry sauce.
This six course Chef’s tasting menu is 1,500++ per person including coffee and tea. Available from July through September 2024.
