The Chiang Mai community – and its numerous sub-communities – is vibrant, strong, connected and active.
There is something for just about everyone here, whether you are interested in the spiritual and holistic; sports and adventure; culture and traditions; partying and barhopping; arts and crafts or anything in between or beyond. With the advent and widespread use of social media, it has never been easier to connect to like-minded people within the Chiang Mai community, so many of whom organise events, workshops, gatherings and other community-focused activities to keep the social calendar full at all times.
The community is also supportive and rallies round at times of adversity as with the increasingly dangerous annual air-pollution crises every summer, and of course the more recent COVID-19 pandemic. It is at these times that the community comes together at its best, creating reliable support systems, communication channels and networks to ensure that all members of the community are catered to and get the care that they need.
Here are some of the multitude of stories we have featured about the Chiang Mai community over the years – the glorious and the shameful, such is the nature of life.
