La Luna: Happy 6th Anniversary
La Luna, a veritable lodestar in the Chiang Mai art scene, has exhibited some of Thailand and South East Asia’s finest artists over the last six years and introduced us to many up and coming talents. La Luna, in its beautifully fun and contemporary gallery, focuses on art from the Asia Pacific region, mostly Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam, and of course promotes local artists.
They are mainly concerned with art that depicts everyday life as well as art that is imbued with the spiritual aesthetic. In addition to paintings they also sell other artifacts, posters, postcards and notebooks.
A great place to go to see what is new in the art scene, or to build up or build onto your collection.
From March 14th – April La Luna will be celebrating its 6th year anniversary with the ‘Natural Six’ exhibition.
Tita Gallery
Tita Gallery is a homely and friendly gallery situated in the bucolic surrounds of Mae Rim. Their gallery displays works from mostly local artists that includes paintings, ceramics, textiles and some glass items. With a fine location right opposite the Four Seasons Resort, and with its very own Wawee Coffee, Tita is super popular as a stop off during a day’s outing to the area.
The next exhibition at Tita is entitled ‘Messages’ by Infinity, showcasing contemporary Thai art. It will run March 21st – April 30th.
