First impressions count and as we were driven through the beautiful grounds of the Dheva Spa and Wellness Centre, we were expecting to be impressed. We were however blown away by the beauty of the spa buildings and the complete serenity we felt when we entered the spa reception. We felt completely removed from the bustle of daily Chiang Mai life.
The Dhveva Spa and Wellness Centre is a unique sanctuary offering traditional Ayurveda treatments, traditional Thai massages and wellness packages that are suited to all. The abundant facilities include spacious and luxurious treatment suites, a hydrotherapy room, two hairdressing stations, manicure and pedicure stations, café, outdoor relaxation area and a boutique. Each of these is housed in the most beautiful Burmese architecture, recreated from an original Burmese template in Mandalay.
Guests can choose from either an al a carte menu which includes a range of Ayurveda and specialised therapies or a wellness retreat which takes a purely holistic approach to health and wellbeing and has programme running from 3-21 days. Every therapist is fully trained in Ayurveda techniques at the Wellness Centre. The menu has been designed to improve health and wellbeing for both the body and mind. Those who choose a retreat will benefit from a thorough consultation with a trained health professional as well as a unique scan of their body that looks in detail at their chakras and concerned areas. A programme will then be tailored to them personally and will include diet, exercise and treatments.
Those who are looking for something less intense will enjoy the array of massages, facials, scrubs and wraps on the al a carte menu. Upon arrival, each guest is served a health juice of their choice depicting all the colours of the chakra. Each drink benefits different areas of the body. Once the desired treatment has been chosen, guests are led to the beautiful spa suites where they partake in a traditional foot ritual to introduce them to their therapists. Once finished, there is a selection of healthy (and rather delicious) snacks to choose from to ensure mind and body are both fulfilled.
If this takes your fancy and you live in Chiang Mai, there are membership packages for both the fitness centre and the spa. These six-month packages comprise access to the spa, the gym and a vast range of complimentary services and discounts to enjoy across the resort. These include unlimited access to the Loy Kham pool, a complimentary massage and a 50% discount on a two-night stay at the resort itself. And starting this month, running through March and April, local residents of Chiang Mai can enjoy a special Spa Buffet — a combination of idyllic treatments for two hours at a special price of 2,900 baht net per person.
Surely an offer not to be missed!
