CityNews – The Chiang Mai Public Health Office is advising people to take a caution regarding dengue fever as there are currently 476 cases of dengue fever with around 100 cases found in Muang district.
Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office reported on June 2nd that there are 476 cases of dengue fever in Chiang Mai, mostly found in patients age between 15 to 24. The majority of sufferers are in Muang district with a total of 93 cases, with Chom Thong district having 61 cases and Mae Ai district having 53 cases. This year Chiang Mai is ranked 20th in most susceptible to Dengue fever, rising from 29th in 2016.
It was reported that mosquito breeding sites are mostly found in the community areas (66.64%) compared to temples and schools. Public sectors have announced a protocol on spraying mosquito repellents once a week.
Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office emphasised the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites in homes, schools and work places.
