CityNews – The Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) of Chiang Mai has announced at a meeting with locals that after developing and improving the waste management systems at the Doi Saket waste factory, they are currently procession only 30 tons of waste, with the factory limit reaching 100 tons.
On October 10, the PAO along with VPN Collections Co Ltd outlined that in the area of Doi Saket waste collections only totaled 30 tons, leaving an additional 70 tons available for waste from other areas of Chiang Mai.
Over 200 people from 12 villages in the local area came to the meeting to listen to the results of the newly developed solid waste factory. They were educated in the method of solid waste disposal and the importance of separating dry and wet waste to assist disposal efficiency.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Health signed an agreement that the development would not affect the local area and the people living there. This meeting was also held to assure that agreement was sustained and gave locals a chance to share any negative experiences or complaints with the ministry.
