CityNews – Deputy Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has agreed to the draft decree on the light railway transit system project in Chiang Mai, Phuket and Phang Nga.
Chiang Mai and Phuket will be the first two provinces to execute the plan as MRTA is now proposing the decree to the cabinet. Chiang Mai is expected to see a resolution on January 2019, estimating to begin the construction in 2020 and finish by 2023.
As for Phuket, the railway is planned to connect with Phang Nga which is estimated to see cabinet resolution on October 2018 and will begin the construction in 2019 and finish in 2023.
